A Post from St. Michael's

I'm waiting my turn for a heart catherization, my second. This one is much less frightening than the first - at least according to my recollection after five years. Of course, ignorance can be deceiving! I realize that Dr. Hurley could find problems that could be difficult to deal with. I have plenty of confidence in his expertise.
This is a good time to count blessings. My life has been extended once by Dr. Hurley and Dr. Cannon (and by God). I will be grateful if it can be done again.
I recently started re-reading "Making every day count" (or something like that) by Maxwell. I find I need help focusing.
So, what should I focus on today? I think if I can tell my wife how much she means to me, that will be a good start. I'll stop blogging and work some on that!

My aunts and uncles

Here is a list of my Mother Clay's sisters and what we called them:
  • Ida Charlie ("aunt Ida")
  • Lector Leon ("aunt Leon")
  • Parmellia Zell ("aunt Zell")
  • Augusta Aaron ("aunt 'Gusty'")
  • Essie Elizabeth ("aunt Essie")
  • Eutha Lee ("aunt Euthy")

and her brothers:
  • Curtis McCurry ("uncle Mac")
  • Ransom Lawrence ("uncle Lawrence")
  • John Robert ("JR")
  • Dunaway (died at a young age).

I'm sitting beside her bed at St. Michael's hospital. When I asked her to tell me her sister's names, she refused at first. I have always found their names interesting.
Mother has always been very sensitive about her name. She's insulted when someone assumes that "Clay" is a man's name. (I haven't put her other name here, though she probably wouldn't know unless I told her.)
Do you have any interesting names in your family?

Family Picture

Here we are at Shawn and Jennifer's for our annual "Cousins Party". One notable fact is that I did no retouching this year. In years past I have had to cut and paste someone in that didn't make it.
